Behaviour Curriculum
In order to support our 'Behaviour and Discipline Policy', we have a 'Behaviour Curriculum' here at Warren Wood. This behaviour curriculum is a positive list of affirmative statements that teach the children what it means to be a 'Woodie'. The behaviours are linked to our school ethos: 'Care, Courtesy and Consideration'. They are also linked to a key intent statement of our curriculum: 'Preparing children for the world outside the window'.
The children are explicitly taught what each of these statements mean and what they look like in practice. We are now using this behaviour curriculum as part of our behaviour management strategy.
Please find attached to this section two versions of this document - a child-friendly set of posters which are used all around school and a one-page version used as a quick reminder and for older children.
The posters have been illustrated by our resident author, Jane Preece (Oliver Lum and the Bubble Gum, Oliver Lumn and the Prickly Plum & Snakes Don't Wear Pyjamas).
